Shanlee Apeiron, a National Board Certified teacher with 12 years of experience in education, has always been passionate about empowering children to nurture their inner light. Holding a master’s degree in STEM education, Shanlee specializes in the elementary engineering design process. While teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic, she noticed that children needed extra support with their social and emotional well-being. This realization inspired her to write The Star Bean Adventures book series, a collection of stories designed to help children express themselves, understand their emotions, and foster personal growth.
As a former elementary STEM educator, Shanlee believes that creativity is at the heart of learning. Her experience has shaped her storytelling approach, integrating problem-solving, personal development, and imagination into each adventure. Shanlee views the engineering design process as more than a scientific method—it's a way to cultivate creativity in all areas of life, from writing and inventing to creating a healthier, more caompassionate world.
Shanlee, and her husband Bobby, are co-founders of the nonprofit Avalon Mesa Ascension Sanctuary, the parent organization of Star Bean Sanctuary, a safe space for children to be empowered. Star Bean Sanctuary is dedicated to nurturing creativity, allowing children to break free from societal expectations and discover how to best show up in the world and make a meaningful impact. Star Beans, the next generation of starseeds, are here to change the world. Shanlee is committed to consciously guiding these children—mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually—so they keep their spark alive.
Through her work, Shanlee introduces the Apeiron Approach, a life-engineering process with four stages: activating awareness, empowering self-mastery, willing connection, and ascending consciousness. This approach guides both children and adults on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. In addition to her writing, Shanlee is excited to offer events and experiences through the Star Bean Sanctuary, aimed at cultivating change within ourselves and the world. These immersive programs will empower children and adults alike to harness their creativity, light, and purpose.
Now living in Colorado with her husband, Bobby, and their daughter, Asteri, Shanlee continues her mission of personal empowerment and creativity, one Star Bean at a time.
